Obituary for Richard Andasola

Richard Andasola

Born: July 31, 1942
Passed on: November 6, 2018

Richard was the youngest son out of 13 children born to Patricia and Dolores Andasola (aka grandma Patsy and Daddy Boy). He is survived by four sisters: Sandra, Barbara, Hope and Elsie. Richard had one son – Jason Andasola. The Andasola family is huge. Richard has over 50 nieces and nephews, hundreds of second and third cousins, plus many extended family members.

Richard loved his family but liked to spend his time enjoying nature, often on his own. He was an outdoors man who loved to hunt and fish, and spend his time in the mountains away from the city. He liked working with his hands and had an extensive wood-working workshop. If you were lucky enough to receive one of his handmade creations, his RA signature is engraved into the wood. He enjoyed making toy planes and cars with rolling wheels and would hand them out to children.

Richard was a dispatcher for the forest service, and retired in the early 2000s after nearly 3 decades of service. He worked tirelessly in order to save the animals, the forest, and the people… in that order! To quote Smokey the bear “animals don’t set fires, people do”. To quote Uncle Rich -- "stupid people do".

Military Service: Richard served in the United States Navy from 1961 to 1965.
